"Toys, although mistaken as a mere form of entertainment, are also essential to a child’s social
emotional and cognitive development; this is why we as the Pasadena Area Leos Club believe it is
essential that all children get to experience this joy. According to Unicef, around 84% of children in
Lebanon have less than 2 toys to enjoy.
Many children around the world are less fortunate and lack the possession of such a necessary
tool and while we can not directly bring down this statistic around the world, we as a community can still
focus on helping the children present in our area. Thus, the Pasadena LEOs, have dedicated our next
service project to raising funds and donations for children in need during the month of December.
The Pasadena Area Leos Club is a student-run club sponsored by Pasadena Host Lions Club. The
Pasadena Lions have continuously served for over 100 years and together, the Lions and Leos work in the
Pasadena area to help people in need. The Pasadena Leos integrate the three values of “Leadership,
Experience, Opportunity” to continue to “kindly and humbly serve” individuals in the Pasadena area.
Throughout the past several years, including Covid-19, we have organized various drives for donated
books and food and for the holidays we are proud to announce our first annual Toy Drive.
On December 17th from 11am-3pm, the Pasadena Leos will be volunteering in front of the
Pasadena Senior Center (85 E Holly St) in order to collect donations for the children in our city. We will
be accepting both new toys and monetary contributions and are reaching out to our Pasadena community
in search of donations.
Additionally, the Pasadena Area Leos club is currently looking for new members of the youth,
high school and college aged, who are interested in serving their community."
